Description

The caste system is an ancient social class system, the most representative of which is the Indian caste system culture, the culture is built on the Hindu concept of reincarnation. The caste system includes four major castes, which divide Indians into Brahmins (Priests), Kshatriyas (Warriors), Vaisyas (Farmers and Merchants) and Sudras (Slaves or Laborers). Dalits (Untouchable) are excluded by the caste system and have been engaged in the most inferior jobs for generations. Among India’s current population of 1.36 billion, at least 200 million are untouchables. After India's independence from the British in 1947, the caste system was officially abolished legally.
